Buy Individual Parts or a LPK?
« on: September 05, 2011, 04:11:19 PM »
I have built to AR-15's and plan to build more.  With the first two I have purchased Lower Parts Kits that included everything to assemble the lower receiver minus the stock.  Is this the economical thing to do or can you recommend a place to get the pricier parts (trigger, disconnector, bolt catch, hammer, etc)?  Thanks.

if you are just going to use the parts in the kit then buy one however if you are going to trade out triggers disconect, springs  and grip then it may be better to buy the parts seprate

The way you are doing it is probably the cheapest route. I buy a stripped lower, double star kit, magpul moe stock and hogue grip. That is still cheaper than buying a complete lower. Where I have seen individual parts are higher than the kit. Some, like rra offer the option of kit without fire control group if you wanted a different trigger.
