Congrats on your new gun. I have one in 44 spl. They are nice. Just keep the case hardened frame lightly oiled, and don't use any abrasives on it, same as any blued / case hardened gun. The coloring is not a surface chemical finish like used on the Rugers, but is from the actual metal hardening proccess, and is more durable.
For me, anyway, I have found S/A guns to be more sensitive to your grip then the typical D/A or semi. You may have to experiment with various loads and bullet weights to find one that shoots closest to point of aim. USFA does a pretty good job of regulating them from the factory. I tend to shoot to the left with my single actions, and have found that resting my right thumb on the left recoil shield when gripping the gun helps bring my shots to center.
