I think it will dramatically depend on what you're looking for. Stainless or blued, what caliber and twist, length, sights vs scope base.

If they have the blank on hand, I would suspect turn around time to be pretty quick. If they have to order it in, then they are stuck waiting for their blank supplier to deliver the raw materials.

Best bet is to call or email them. The last time I emailed SSK, Jones his own self answered back, and rather quickly too. It was either the same day, or the next day. They'll be able to tell you up front what the wait time will be.

Generally speaking turn around time is very short in fact the shortest of the custom makers. They have a large stock of barrels on hand and can generally get what you want out in days not weeks or months.

Thanks for quick responses, I will give them a call Monday. I have been wanting a new T/C barrel for deer hunting with a little longer reach the my revolver can give me. I wasn't sure about how long it would take to get one and still have time to work up a load for it. Been thinking about at 14" to 15"  ss barrel with a full lenght scope mount.
Thanks
David

Jones has made a number of barrels for me.  Time depends on what he has going on.  One barrel was 2 weeks,,, another time it was 5 weeks,,,, and the rest,,,everything in between.  Well worth the wait.

Do not know what caliber your are thinking of, but if it is a pretty good recoiling caliber I would go ahead and have a T`S.O.B scope mount attached to the barrel by J.D and his crew! They have done a couple for me and they are great!

...Been thinking about at 14" to 15"  ss barrel with a full lenght scope mount.

I agree with the others, JD is commonly the fastest in the custom barrel business, usually by a wide margin, and makes the best TC barrels of all of them IMO.

Be sure to talk to JD about the full length vent rib T-SOB base if you want one and tell him which scope you want to mount.   I've had four of them, and with two different versions of his T'SOB rings they would not allow scopes with even mid sized objectives to be mounted (IOW the rings did not raise the objectives enough to clear the rib).  He may have higher ring versions now.   If not rings from other makers will get you high enough though.

Case in point... these are the scopes I wanted to mount on these four SSK barrels I bought as a set, but was waiting for four sets of matching T'SOB rings for them.   When the two different styles of rings came they wouldn't mount any of them except the 1-4 Tasco Pro Class w/tube diameter objective on the 375JDJ barrel.  Never had a bit of trouble mounting whatever scope I wanted to on any of my other SSK barrels that didn't have the FL ribs, so I never thought about it until the barrels came.  Anyway, the picture shows what you're up against with FL T'SOB ribs - you'll need higher rings.

Labode that is a nice collection and thanks for the heads up about the ring height when using the full lenght mount. I have a couple of spare Leupold eer scopes, one is a 4x and the other a 2.5 x 8. I am not sure at this time which I plan on using.
Thanks,
David

If you send your scope to them, they'll even mount it in T'SOB base/rings on your barrel.

Well gents I ended up picking up a a rifle barel instead of a handgun barrel (but will in the near future). I got a SSK Encore 50-70 barrel. JD sent me reloading data for use in his barrels only,  some uses 50BMG bullets lol. I picked up a mold for a 450 grain bullet this should work for most of my needs, but keep thinking about a 600 grain bullet. This will make for a great black bear rig when hunting in Canada.
I have other custom barrels from OTT and MGM, but this is my first SSK barrel and service was great.
Thanks to all who recommended them.
