Shim?
« on: September 11, 2011, 03:29:45 PM »
I just aquired a 223 barrel that is loose and needs shimmed. I was wondering if a piece of an old tape measure would make good shim material?

If it holds up for 6 months at a time (or longer), and you get 25 ft of shim stock on a roll  8)  why not.

How long should it last? Is there a more permanent solution?

Again as long as its steel, likely forever.
