Ace;
I hear he has been busy skinning cats, coyotes, and fox along with a few coon. :wink: He ain't as young as he used to be or as healthy, and it takes him a lot longer to set and run traps and skinning really slows him down.
He also took a part-time job installing satelite receivers. It pays him $125 for 2 or 3 hours worth of work so he said that was pretty hard to turn down. He don't much like it because it takes away from his trapping time but it is year round and he is doing 4 or 5 per week and that helps his sore toe and pocketbook.
He did say to tell you that your lures just keep catching. He even went so far as to pull a complete switch up after one coyote kept playing tag with him and he used your beaver lure on that one coyote to mess with his mind. Pretty nice dog after he stepped in the wrong place. :eek:
Seriously, I do find that sometimes when I have a "cagey" old yote that has been snapped at a few times in the past, a completely different smell than he is used to and a different type set will mess with his senses enough to cause him to make a bad mistake. I made a "line" set and put the beaver lure in the center. Something he just couldn't resist in trying to find out why the heck that smell was there and the duff lined up like that. Hey, don't kick what works.
