Had to pick it all...........................frost

Well it's that time of year....in the low 30's last night and tonight in the 20's.  Even covered veggies don't hold up to well.  So everything is picked except the squash.  I like this time of year.....but I hate this time of year.

wow, that was a short season.  I knew it would get cold there quicker than here, but I didn't think it'd be this soon.  Enjoy the season

Longwinters, glad I don't live where you do. Just canned up 18qts. of salsa last week, and hoping to get 20-25 qts. of tomato juice next week. Been a couple of years where I had fresh tomato's for Thanksgiving. Picked them just turning around Halloween, put them in the basement in a carboard box, and they ripened up. gypsyman

I can't imagine having that long of a growing season.  This afternoon, before the Packer game, I pulled all my frozen plants etc...tilled the raised beds and scattered my mowed up green bean bushes over them.  It'll all taste great this fall and winter.
