Has this ever happened to your compound?

Hi guys    Just took my hoyt bow out of its case yesterday and and the string has unraveled leaving only 2 strands holding the limbs together.  It was fine when I put it away but it did get hot in the garage this year.  Took it to the bow shop asap.  Have you ever seen anything like this before?  I hope there was no damage to the limbs in the heat
 
Should I ask the guys there to tune the bow to make sure all is well?

bulletstuffer anytime you store your bow for a period of time you crank the bow down. I found out the hardway had to replace a set of limbs on azmax i had.

Have them replace the string, you will have to fine tune it yourself as far as sighting it in. They can get it close to tune but every shooter is different.

Wow! Crazy, how hot did it get?  Thankfully, I insulated my garage, the builder thought I was nuts, but, I do a lot of work in the garage, and without the insulation and a kero-heater, it would be like a freezer in the winter.

I change my string every 3 years. Place a mark on your cam near a fixed part. When the mark moves, it's time to change your string.

well yeah but worse. my old pse bow i shot for years was hanging on the wall. just exploded the string when i wasnt looking.since all the specs were wore off the limb and i have no idea what the string length was and my bow pro cant seem seem to find out either what the string length is, it is now junk.

I've heard this before. I have never done so. What about the bows for sale at bow shops? They are not loosened and sit on the shelf for extended periods. Bought my Mathews Outback in 2006 and have changed the string twice but have never stored it loosened. But I have owned 3 PSE bows and between them replaced 5 limbs so maybe it depends on the bow or bow design.
