Shot gun stock mods
« on: September 18, 2011, 07:42:55 PM »
My late 60's Springfield 20 gauge has changed through the years. 18 1/4 inch barrel. Choke tubes installed to make it useful again. Just last week i changed the stocks angle to lower the butt by 1 1/4 inches. It makes snap shots much better. I was shooting high before. Now i might like to do it over to clean up my imperfections.  My son has a broom handle style sxs he would like to do the same to. The question is where can we find replacement stocks to work with?  At a reasonable price.

Always look on our supporters list first to help keep the sight going but most any stock maker can build what you want, though I think you are wanting to keep the stocks dimensions the same as they are now after you modified them. That means the stock on you guns will need to be used as a pattern to make the new stock. Otherwise the new stock you arder will be made from a pattern that will duplicate what was there before your changes! The are many folks with duplicators but 'WENIGS; in Lincoln, Missouri would be my suggestions. I know those guys and they do a great job and are reasonable...
