The fears about what illegal immigrants are doing to the US economy don't stand up to scrutiny, yet some states now penalize employers who hire them.

crustylicious - What is so patriotic about hiring an illegal alien? Think about it, you pay taxes, to support your government, which pays for certain services. An illegal alien, pays nothing for these services, but uses them.

To put this on a personal basis, you pay rent or a mortgage, for a place to live. You buy food to eat, you cook it. The illegal who just made money that day doing a day job, comes into your house without permission to sleep, he then eats the food, you cooked and purchased, without paying for it.
Would you condone this?

When I first saw the title of this article I thought it was a joke, but from continued reading I found this guy is actually serious. I guess just chalk it up as another anti-American, pro illegal immigration editorial. Actually I think the guy is nuts. Wouldn't it be more patriotic to hire unemployed American citizens, than illegal people that have no business being here? I guess in his mind we are to reward Illegals for breaking our immigration laws by giving them a job. I'm sure this guy had some intense American hating liberal indoctrination some time in his life.

Why not be a LIBERAL/ patriot.. Once an illegal breaks into the country..give him a driver's license, free medical, reduced out-of-state school rates, permission to vote in OUR elections and a host of freebies citizens don't get.....

DUH!! WAKE UP!! ...There IS a "path to citizenship", it is getting into a waiting line, and doing it just as millions of others have done... It works for those from Germany, Poland, Vietnam, Korea and Italy...and it can work..and do it in a FAIR manner for the ILLEGALS who will go back and try again...this time, the RIGHT and HONEST way..

Hiring someone who is here illegally, is well illegal. So that would make you a law breaker and since we are talking about an international/boarder issue, it would also make you a traitor.

And armed Mexican drug dealers going back and forth across the boarder with illegal weapons is an act of war. Think we might be able to take the rest of the country this time? it would solve the illegal immigration problem..........

YEP, and the obamination ordered the border patrol to make fewer arrests, loosen up the rules, and to let 320,000 facing deportation go free. Not to mention having signs put up 60 + miles inside OUR borders warning AMERICANS that criminals now control certain parts of America. Yep, the dims got a real winner for president. POWDERMAN.

And how did these cartels get those illegal weapons to kill border patrol officers ? Why, from the Obama administration in their "fast & Furious" operation. I watched last nights GOP debate when Gov. Perry defended his No Fence stand and the financial education support for illegal aliens. For my 2 pennies worth he disqualified himself right there and then from any conservative votes.

Off topic. I was impressed by Speaker Gingrich and Mr. Cain and disappointed by Congresswoman Bachman.

Perry didn't help himself, but he's still in the 'top tier'. Bachmann did OK, didn't see any duplicity. Paul did fine ...on domestic policy.
Of course, anyone upon that stage was lightyears ahead of what we have in the oval office now !
