A NY Moment
« on: September 20, 2011, 01:16:32 PM »
I was at Michaels Restaurant in NYC for lunch today.  When I walked in I noticed Sgt. Dakota Meyer sitting at a table, complete with his medal of honor around his neck.

Anyhoo, about 10 minutes later an older gent stood up and got the attention of the restaurant and explained who was sitting there and thanked him.  Whereupon this hero was treated to a standing ovation from the patrons.

Nice.  Sort of nice to see in NY because it is so unexpected.

Lets hope not. We owe this guy a ton more than a free lunch. The story of what he accomplished is amazing. A real hero.

It is a shame his mother of father or someone reputable was not able to put the MOH on his neck.

In this case more reputable could have been his garbage man.

I don't see any reason to be insulting janitors and garbage men--what have they done wrong?  Of course they are more reputable than the obamanation--isn't everyone?

If the story is true, I'm a bit bothered that the hero is sitting around in public with the medal around his neck.  If nothing else, it would make him a target for your local anti-American liberal leftist.

If you've ever had to do without sanitation services you know how important that career is.

Nice to hear the folks up there gave him a round of applause.

Not everybody who lives, or works in NYC is a flaming liberal.  They're just a minority.  If I was there, I would have picked up his tab.

He is one awesome young man.  I understand that he feels like he failed because he was unable to save four of his Marine buddies.   Mind you he is credited with saving 36 men.

Doesn't he look thrilled to be in husseins presence?? News said he refused to take obummers phone call til he was talked into it. That says volumes. Too bad it couldn't have been an American giving it to him. POWDERMAN.  :( :(
