Nothing unchristian about executing murderers.  My wife said if they would outlaw abortion, she would be willing to compromise and outlaw capital punishment with life in prison with no parole.  I see a difference in that if someone takes a life, they forfeit their life.

Do a little background work on the "seven" and this will become clearer. The MSM has written that 7 out of 9 witnesses have recanted. That is patently a lie! There were 34 witnesses for the prosecution and six witnesses for the defense. Not to mention that three of the prosecutions witnesses were members of the Air Force sitting in the drive through watching the whole thing transpire. Two men, one wearing a yellow t-shirt, one wearing a white t-shirt with a batman symbol on it were involved. One with batman shirt was pistol whipping a vagrant while yellow shirt watched. Police man tried to intervene and was shot by man wearing batman shirt. Batman shirt guy then walked up and while smiling shot the policeman again.
 
He (batman boy) was given another chance in the court of law in 2007 and was still found to be guilty.
 
Sounds like Justice was done to me.

Yah I think the media is having a good time with this issue. They certainly are taking every chance they can get to stick their collective noses up Sharpton's behind and they could care less about the truth.
 
As vile as this individual "was" in my opinion he deserved due process. He was given his due process.
 
I have a hard time making myself believe the guy in Texas even deserved that much. But that is the way our system works. I was happy that it did not take 20 years for him to recieve his reward.

   The media and stupid celebrities sure do whip up passions over certain situations....of THEIR choosing..
    A couple days ago, a youngster of 14 in this end of the 'peoples republic of NY' killed himself.  It is alleged that he was "bullied"...and it was at least partially because he was confused as to whether he was a "gay" person or not.
     I can understand the pain of his parents and family and sympathize with them..but somehow, the media and celebrities have picked up on this ONE suicide, making it an national/international story!  Even that silly  "Lady Gaga"..has jumped on the bandwagon !
        How many teenagers in the last month have taken their own lives ?  Why hasn't the media picked up on them ?  Why hasn't the media driven their stories into international prominence ?
    Locally, the radio talk shows are beating the drums over this case, all day long.  They talk to neighbors, friends, parents and school teachers/administrators & counsellors..if they can get them to talk.  They ask about "bullying"..intimidation etc.
 
   ....But I have yet to hear them ask the obvious....  Knowing that with very high disease and suicide rates, "gay" is anything but gay (in the original sense)..why don't they ask this most obvious question;
 
  " Did you do your best to pull this child back from even considering entering into such a perverse, dangerous and miserable lifestyle" ?   or...  "What did you do to help him this destructive, ugly manner of living" ?

They the left really does not care about these people as individuals. What they care about is dividing the nation into manageable groups. The Gays gained status in Germany during the 1890s. The Nazi [Socilaist Party] cleansed these people when they were no longer needed. These groups are being used by the American Socialist Party[Democratic]. It is very difficult for me to imagine Jesus approving, let alone participating in, the killing - 'execution' - of someone. I tried to imaging Jesus putting a noose around a man's neck, and then springing the trap... it just didn't fit. Neither did injecting them with poisons.

I'm aware that others have no problem with that... or with a lot of other things I don't think Jesus would be involved in.

Among the seven witnesses who have recanted their testimony in sworn affidavits, several say they felt pres­sure from the police to identify Troy as the shooter. Knowing they could face perjury charges for their state­ments, they nevertheless have come forward to tell their story—but the courts will not allow this new evidence to be heard by a jury. Sylvester Coles is one of the two original witness who has not recanted his testimony.
Here are what two of the witnesses had to say:
 
Jeffrey Sapp: “The police came and talked to me and put a lot of pressure on me…They wanted me to tell them that Troy confessed to me about killing
 
Darrell Collins: “The police were telling me that I was an accessory to murder, and that I would…go to jail for a long time, and I would be lucky if I ever got out, espe­cially because a police officer got killed…I was only 16 and was so scared of going to jail

So the answer to my question is: No testimony was recined in any of the 4 actual criminal trials.
 
Next question: Since there have been 4 actual trials for this guy, and no testimony was recinded during an actual trial, how many years went by after the last trial did the witness (es) recant thier trail testimony under aworn affidavit?

My source agrees with what your saying TM. These recanted testimonies did not happen during any of the 4 trials. They happened outside of any trail, under sworn affidavit by his defense team.
 
The point is this: 4 criminal trials all with same testimony by the same witnesses. Then, after the trials are done, death sentance is ruled, then many years later we have these same witnesses recant. Don't you find that odd?

    Here's your chance...prove there were mistakes, errors, overly ambitious prosecutors and crowds..
        It sure seems this killer made the mistake and error...and had many "overly ambitious" defense lawyers..in among a crowd screaming "turn him loose"..
     Troy Davis had appeal after appeal..and finally, the SCOTUS !....all said "guiilty as charged"..
 
  Don't know if the other guy had as many trying to save his equally useless life..not likely, since he didn't have 20 years between the crime & execution...  But Troy Davis had extra considerations, way beyond what most convicted murderers get.

What if this fellow broke into your home? What if he killed a family member? What if you were armed ? Would you ask Gods for forgiveness before you dropped the hammer? Would you say no just kill the  rest of us we  are  all opposed at taking a human life? Before we die we pray you will get a liberal lawyer to delay your punishment for 25 years. This will provide enough time for everyone to forget our suffering and pain. This is what all who are opposed at death penalty laws would do.

Years later their dirty deeds are almost forgotten and glossed over leaving the criminal to whine about his unfair treatment. The fastest execution I remember in my lifetime after conviction was timothy mcveigh, and I believe that was to shut him up. POWDERMAN.

    AGREED !!   Makes one wonder why the "conspiracy gang" hasn't jumped upon that one...   There were reports by some of a "dark complexioned man" having arrived in the truck with Mcveigh, at the OKC scene..even witness described sketches available..
