I did not like firearm mounted supports for field hunting, so mostly made my own sticks for their versatiltity and ease of use. From simple sticks like arrowwood at first, from wood dowels, fiberglass or aluminum tubes later, and shock corded folding sticks after that. I did evetually buy some made by others, the best of them those made by Vern Howey IMO. They come at a high price if you can even find them anymore, but are worth every penny of it. I'v always kept an extra set of his on hand in case I lost or damaged the one I used. Never did need it despite years of constant use... they are well made.
