Someone here wrote that getting pepper sprayed was no big deal. If that is true - ? - perhaps the protesters could carry some pepper spray of their own, so they can shoot back. It's no big deal, right?

Better make it bear spray... easier to use on a moving target...

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

You didn't see any of the stuff I thought I saw on the video ?  Didn't phones and cameras suddenly appear ? Didn't the women get heavy into the screeching? ...Sure looked and sounded like it to me !
.
Go get yourself sprayed by pepper spray, police grade pepper spray,,,,or better yet have one of the women in your family volunteer for a sneak spray from behind.  Report back here with your findings. This women was blinded for 45 minutes from the cowardly sneak attack.  Attacks similar to the kind Sgt Bologna has been previously indicted.

This women was identified as a leader of the demonstration and so was fence/corralled by the PD, she speaks very lucidly and had given interviews. The PD would not allow the demonstrators to talk to observors or passerbys.  This happen to my party on Sat and we were not allowed to converse with the demonstrators to find out what was up...I was just up the street from where/when this women got sprayed and heard the commotion and heard the shouts that PD is spraying people now, up to that point there had been casual milling around and a organized march up the street, then all hell broke loose to disperse the march...this was a police incited riot as usual...even so the demonstrators reacted rather passively ...Every 4th person there had some kind of video camera or camera...some very impressive video equipement I would add. It is not illegal to own or carry video equipment or cell phones....YET!

Actually, IG, I believe if you review the actual slo-mo video of Bologna spraying this women you will agree that this was a totally unwarranted sneak attack. Even the 'blue shirts' are have a look of what-the-heck on their faces....I have faith in you to recognize this action for what it was...

Meanwhile, thousands more seem to be joining the demonstration/rebellion...including united transportation workers..

TM you know what I say is true, no need to lie to promote your agenda. No red herring here except a shot sound bite video posted that does not show the whole story as I have told it.

Many of us have gone through the military gas chambers..and many more than once.  These sprays are no more harmful than tear gas.  Darned uncomfortable while you're getting a dose, but no long-term effects.  With tear gas one has to remember to not rub their eyes..but you stlill cry like ababy, slobber, nose runs and perhaps you puke.  I've never had a run-in with police, but I expect pepper spray would be similar, with NO RESIDUAL effects.  Thus no big deal..if you asked for it..suck it up and take it !
That is why I would not have any female family members volunteer for pepper spray OR tear gas..and that is just what those demonstrators/rioters weren doing...volunteering and begging for some pepper spray !  They should just, "suck it up".
Candidly... If a woman wants to be treated like a lady, It is always a great idea to act like a lady.
As  far as a "sneak attack", they could have been facing the cop..their choice..Probably better if they  faced away..protects their eyes.
I did see a spray plume, but I didn't see it hit the back-pack gal or the gray-strap T-shirt gal hit, seems like the spray was on the far side of them..of course the videographer was unstable  and may have missed that part

As far as hitting this woman because she was identified as the leader...That was a smart move by the police..a much better chance of cooling the crowd of rioters down.

I think the police pepper spraying these lice for spitting on them was a prettyt mild response. If I were spit upon like these officers were my response would have been much more severe.

OK then IG, I see.. :o ....one could take this to mean you're against public assembly and demonstration as per the 1st Admendment,,,any female doing so is acting unlady like and deserves a spray of stinging pepper spray, even when corralled and standing around.,,,,only demonstrations you approve of are OK...Demonstration leaders are to singled out and sprayed with toxicants. This puts you in the Billy Red Herring school of anti-free speech--good company I should say.. ::)    So, alrighty then....what we got here is a put down of freedom of our quarranted free speech and assembly, no other points of view allowed except state approved and with the seal of the TPTB Oligarchy... resistance will not be tolerated.  This is the hallmark of state Fascism...no other points of view allowed.   Gee, I guess Maugham was really right on target when he said, "FASCISM WILL COME TO AMERICA RAPPED IN A FLAG AND WEARING A CROSS."   ..TM7 .
  TM; you're extrapolating again !!!  Read the first amendment..article#1 Bill of Rights;

"  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".

No matter how you see it, that mob was NOT "peaceably assembled"...   Had they stayed on the sidewalk, been reasonably assembled and kept at least part of the smut off their signs..it could have been viewed as such.  That one, major qualifier excludes them from 1st amendment rights.
The "Boston massacre" of nearly 2.5 centuries ago, was actually an unruly mob ! To call it a "massacre" was simply "spin". The young British troops accused of killing civilians were defended by none other than the patriot and member of the constitutional convention, ..John Adams.  A colonial court found the British troops "not guilty".
         Mobs are mobs...

C4. After watching the news I've come to the conclusion that it all depends on which one you talk to. I've heard several different things, like we want jobs, we want more welfare, we hate obama, we love obama, we need more illegal criminals to do the work Americans don't, close the border, round em up, ship em out, amnesty for criminal invaders, then theres the ever popular spotted owl. Occupy Wall Street.Org. Here is a list of some of the interesting things they are fighting for. This is what they are blaming Wall Street for. So in this context, "they" means Wall Street.

They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.
They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility. They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.

I think they are getting the obama white house, Liberals and democrats confused with Wall Street.

IG....as often modus operandi...police instigated the ruckus....they want this broken up asap before it goes globally ballistic...like 1775....Besides peaceful is a subjective term....I did not see weapons on protestors, nor have heard of any since last Sat when I was in the City...just placards and fllyers, and alot of POed cops herding the crowds around to single out 'leaders'...defend the TPTB as expected, but the times they are a changin...

You shouldn't really compare that ruckus on Wall street with America in 1775..it doesn't fit !  More appropriately, you should be comparing this street rabble to the street rabble of the French revolution and the guilloyine execution of King Louis and Marie Antoinette in 1793..

I think a large percentage of those people have no idea why they are there, they are basically just there because everyone else is, I heard this comment many times.  The other percentage, as already mentioned, just want other people's stuff and don't want to work, or want a good job handed to them, they feel like somebody owes them something cause they were born.  A real big percentage have no idea what Wall Street is, or how it works, and have nothing invested or ever will invest in anything except piercings and body art,  they won't be able to get good employment just from the way they look, they have not even figured out how your appearance effects your life in general yet.  I just call them hippies.  There is a percentage of people there who are die hard socialists/Marxists and are very smart, some being teachers and colledge professors who were also interviewed, they will affect a certain percentage of young people who still have mush for brains.  and probably 100 percent of all of them either are not smart enough to attach simple math to their problems, or flat out refuse to use math at all in the name of some emotional political ideology, there is actually no hope for any of them having a successful life except on the backs of tax payers.  Their movement is rather weak and meaningless.  5 or 6 Tea Party people picked up more attention, fear, blame, media attacks, and even had the president of the United States blame them for him signing bad legislation they they didn't even write or want... :o   Go figure...
Maybe they are all so stupid they don't realize they been winning the elections and we already have passed everything they wanted, they have been in power for some time now,  and this is the result of their winnings.   ;D

In Florida, if the protesters spitting on LEOs is a first degree misdemeanor, punishment roughly 180 days to 1 year.  I watched the video as well, and I saw a few laying on of hands and spitting on LEOs.  The police response was justified.

As to the relative hygiene of the protesters, I have heard and read several accounts of unkempt urchins (that means dirty people to the libs here) occupying the area.  I think arrests for vagrancy may be in order.

The LEOS have a tough job dealing with a mob of stinking, literally stinking, hippies and leftists who want nothing more than to "strike a blow at the establishment".      If the urchins decide to assault a police officer, they should be prepared to reap the consequences.

TM....  I do not recall a single incident of truly ritual beheading by either the British or continental leadership.  Formalized beheading seems to be something sought only by two groups today; those who devoutly follow the religion of Islam or fanatically commit to the religion of Liberalism.

Maybe they are all so stupid they don't realize they been winning the elections and we already have passed everything they wanted, they have been in power for some time now,  and this is the result of their winnings.   ;D

TM says;

" OMG.. ::) .."heads didn't roll "...taken literally.. ??? . IG its a figure of speech, duh!!....you know that, regardless of your islamophobic fixation. Having said that I have no doubt beheadings, mutilations, and other atrocitie That is just why I corrected yous took place from our guys and various Indian mercs, etc...Of course, not to the degree of the beheadings that shortly followed in the French Revolution, estimated to be 17,000!!  Wow, that's a record...in a Christian country no less".
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

  TM:
You simply MUST brush up on your history.. Those beheadings were not perpetrated by Christians.  The French revolution was led by the Jacobins..and anti-Christian group !  The mob is likely not devout Christians, and they are being  encouraged by today's heirs of the Jacobins.
As I said the American Revolution was Christian at heart, while the French Revolution was anti-Christian..check your history !

This video points out the demonstrators reasoning for the demonstrations.  Seriously?

Is it possible that one of our posters may have managed to get himself filmed at the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstration?

Well said ST762, the folks promotong this agenda have no issues about lying.
that could be,  but it seems like most of the lying is coming from the other side:
Quote
The cops were spit on by those protesters and the response was justified.
Absent some eyewitness account of Bologna's victims spitting... that appears to be either hopeful speculation, or maybe just a lie.
Here is an eyewitness account:
http://www.bostonreview.net/BR36.5/jeanne_mansfield_occupy_wall_street.php
Quote
And no the officer is not being charged. ::)
that's SOP in this sort of thing...
Quote
What some won't say to promote their agenda.
Indeed; the repeated unsupported accusations that Bologna's victims were spitting at police is evidence of willingness to lie to promote an agenda.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

The protests are organized by Marxists. how any American can support these events is beyond my comprehension.

I'm going to repeat what I said somewhere else.  Wall Street is not the problem, the Federal Government is the problem.

1) Free trade agreements that weren't fair trade agreements for our manufacturing.
2) Forcing banks to make loans to people who should not have had loans for homes, starting in 1998. (Changing the rules)
3) Environmental laws, and other restrictions making operating a business hard to do.

Solutions:

1) Renegotiate free trade agreements.
2) Regulate Chinese imports, either by tarriffs or restrictions if it places an unfair advantage on American business.
3) Lower American corporate tax. Lower working Americans taxes.  Replace with flat taxes and VAT taxes if necessary.

When drilling on American soild for oil and gas resumes, when factories return to American, then we can restore the middle class with good jobs like we once had.  Just opening up drilling would add 1.8 million jobs at an average of $80,000 a year.

Basically go back to what was working in the 80's and 90's before all the tinkering with trade agreements, and tinkering with the markets.  Wall Street became greedy when they saw loopholes the government opened for them to make money.

The people demonstrating on Wall St. are backed by the same group that is pulling the strings in D.C. Their just doubling down on their bets. If they can't get a Socialist govt. set up one way, they'll push another. Both sides looking to get to the same spot in the road. gypsyman

DIXIE DUDE. Good post Sir. News said about 400 of these idiots demonstrated in Lou yesterday and they were going to Lexington too. They have targeted 80 major cities, which is ridiculous. The only city that needs this garbage is Washington DC, the whitehouse and congress. News reported different stories as to why they were there everytime someone else was interviewed. Somebody is putting big bucks into this. The dnc?? To push obummer fake, expensive, worthless jobs bill?? Probably. POWDERMAN.  :o :o
