I bought a Savage Edge to play with, and use in Hunter Ed Classes. I had a problem with the bolt. When you open the bolt sometimes the firing pin button would not stay in the notch in the bolt body leaving it uncocked. The bolt would not go forward into the receiver. You had to take a block of wood and cock the bolt. The more that I used it the worse it got. I called Savage for fix. They told me they were aware of the problem, and to send the gun to them. I had a brand new on in a week. On the last HE Class the new one did it twice. It only happens with the students. At home I can not duplicate the problem; Working the bolt slow, fast, hard, or easy. Have any of you had this problem. It is real annoying. I got good at re-cocking it. After replacing the 6 lb trigger with a Rifle Basic I can shoot clover leafs constantly at 200 yards with Hornady 55g V-Max Varmint Express factory ammo. I like the rifle, and would love to find a fix for the problem.
