       This is what happened to the great cultures of history, just before they crashed...  Cultures can only exist when the people have shared common values and aims, anything less results in a quibbling mob.
   Historically, American culture operated on some very well recognized Judeo-Christian values.  A citizen need not be either a Jew or Christian; but society ran more smoothly because people had sense enough to realize that the precepts (either delivered by God..or developed over 5,000 years of civilization) had proven themselves to be the best way of conducting civilization itself.
   Now we have all kinds of perverse and splinter groups trying to insert their given problem into the dominant culture..to be considered "normal"..  Here is an example:

     Pleased to see your reply, Junior..  Only in recent years have they been trying to force their own problems upon all of society.
  Such things include... killing babies, homosexuality, Sharia law, languages other than English, "hate America" attitudes, living off the taxpayers, illegal drugs, defying the laws, coddling illegal aliens, living off taxpayers..then "biting the hands which feed them", declining to serve the military which protects the country, ...glad to see you catching on...

This thought process continues through society in every walk of life. No personel responsability. I got drunk and ruined my life, who's gonna help me? I can't keep my pants on, now I have 7 kids, who's gonna help me? Girls are icky, now I have a terminal illness, who's gonna help me? I don't want to go to work every morning it's demeaning to stack boxes, who's gonna help me? My boyfriend is so cute after he beats me, I can't stand to be without him, can't someone help him? I tripped and fell in the bank lobby, I Just Won The Powerball Baby!!! where can I find a personnel injury lawyer? I think I may have injuries. 


The children have been coddled through adulthood. They are now adults, in charge, who have no ability to tell the children NO. We are broke and can't afford that, NO it's wrong to be lazy all day get up and go outside, No you can't get free doctor visits, No Darrel, you don't need a boyfriend.


Intolerance has its place in a society. Abhorrent behaviour is intolerable and we need to start pointing out abhorrent behaviour and quit turning a blind eye towards it.

    Here's another step in the degradation of our nation.  After the Obama administration handed down some of it's unrealistic pronouncements for the military..new rules of engagement , etc...then they came along with a new set of PC rulings.  ...Rulings which may make some kind of twisted sense in a college dorm, but definitely do not belong in a combat unit of the military.

Is this condusive to intellingent conversation and exchange of ideas? I think not. I believe it is a constant erosion of civil society that permits people to say things here in forums they would be ashamed to voice in real life. If they are not ashamed then truely I feel sorry for them, they must be viewed as the most disagreeble folks in their home towns.

   Don't know what or who you are referring to, but since you're rather new here.. observe a bit, and see if it doesn't clarify some.  Yes, we can be an opinionated bunch, but i would caution you not to confuse a man's hate for a practice...as hate for the person; almost nobody is beyond redemptrion.
  Some people think stealing is bad, some are convinced that child molesting is evil, others think hunting animals is poisonous and drunkeness is a practice a man should avoid...  I agree with all those condemnations, except the anti-hunting stance...you may have a different set of values.  Again; just because we hate certain sins and practices, that doesn't mean we hate the person... Society is degrading rapidly. Morals and issues of value have all but been eliminated in the minds of our youth. I recently made the statement to a group of 20 and 30 something year old women that the decline in our society began to vastly grow when one singular event happened, mothers left the home for full time jobs. Now, I expected this comment to spark thinking and conversation, but all I got was massive negative backlash and was labeled a sexist nut. The way I see it, it is not being a sexist but a realist. When children are put into the hands of strangers to raise them, they don't learn what they should. Teachers struggle to teach them to read and write, never mind how to be a productive citizen in society. That is the role of the parents. With two working parents, most kids are left to raise themselves with the tv/internet as babysitters and teachers as sometime guides during school hours. I do not think that both parents working is a bad thing as it is a necessity in most households. The point I was making is when women joined the work force they forgot about their number one priority, preparing their children for adulthood. Call me sexist, but I do believe it is a woman's role to raise her kids with the help and support of her mate. When it is not possible to stay home (it isn't possible for me) one must balance work and family. If we could somehow change the modern prospective to making raising children properly a priority, then most of the nonsense that we see today would seize to exist. In saying that keep in mind that the shift must also provide for the parents to have morals, and in my opinion there has been too many generations of non-parenting for this to be a simple solution any longer.
