Chet hanging a snare , or for those in Wisconsin, a cable restraint

...And he came

And so did this one just a ways down the trail.

It should be noted that the restraints used were relaxing...see how relaxed the coyotes are? :-D  :-D

I was thinking of the Wisconsin boys today and realizing all the specifics of the snare and set perameters, it would still be easy to put a fox down in marsh grass or cattails.  The 'yote in the pic with cattails didn't take much and he was "relaxed".  LOL!

wackyquacker,

from the looks of the fine pictures it looks like you guys know what your doing.  i was wondering what makes you hang a snare in any particular spot, ex: tracks, sign, past catches.  i have had a pretty hard time hanging anything this year, and was wondering if you could give me some pointers.  i have caught nothing, and have had one snare knocked down, i think by a deer.  i trap alot of big woods area, with adjoining hayfields and pastures with creeks and swamps here and there if that helps.  any little tip would be great. thanks.
