I'm new to this, what makes an old Topper in 22 Hornet a good deal @ $250.00?
I just bought a barrel for my SB2 from the factory, fitted and shipped, everything for $145.

What am I missing?

The custom mannlicher-style stock is probably worth more than the selling price of the complete rifle.
Assume this is our "oldsoldja" that snapped it up!

I knew it was something that I don't know enough to see.

Thanks

GSI sells the unfinished mannlicher forend for $45.  ;)

Look at the forend muzzle cap and left-side cheek piece - way beyond an unfinished GSI stock.

The trigger guard is way bigger than my Handis and the stock-receiver connection looks different, with a rectangular notch where the stocks fits into the receiver.

Is this an earlier Topper or some other model I've never seen?

Next 2 questions:
This is listed as a 157 Topper.
1.) Is there a 157?
2.) Should I expect the stock and forend to swap to my SB2?

Sorry, I'm asking about a different rifle that I found today.

That's a picture from the listing that I found.

Here's a Model 157, if the custom Hornet on GB has a metal forend cap, which I can't tell because the pic is so dark, it's likely off of an M157. Hard tellin what the rest of it is tho, the trigger guard is obviously custom,  and the stock has been reworked or is custom also.
