Mixing Lures At Gang Sets

What are your thought on using 1, 2, or even 3 different lures when gang setting for coyotes or fox.  If the canine walks past one type of lure, will a set lured with a different type help to catch their attention? Or will too many smells overwhelm them?

Hey there,  I often do just that.  Maybe a dirt hole (had to say that for Asa's sake :P ) in the center for attraction (could use a bleached bone/skull also) and a gland lure down the trail or whatever and a scent post up the trail.  I don't think it matters much on the order or shape of things but I do like different lures at different sets, especially when the sets are in a cluster.

use different lures at multiple sets? of course. I even use and recommend multiple lures at the SAME set.

I mix and match and don't pay a bit of attention to matching lures to the sets. Unless you are making a unlured trail set- whatever set you is not going to seem "natural" to a coyote. In other words- a manmade dirthole with manufactored scents or chemically prepared baits is not going to "imitate another canines food lair" or whatever. Same as a urine post set. Its not natural- its just a place to sniff and UNUSUAL odor- and then do what comes naturally. Canines pee on everything- esp stuff they find interesting, unusuall, threatening, on and on.

So any lured set- in my humble opinion of course- is a curisoity set- and thus any lure that is attrative to canines can be used at any set.

I found that changing up on the urine helps also . I used bobcat urine at one set and coyote at another set about 15 yrds away and got a double .
