Replacement rear sight for a 30-30 Handi Rifle barrel

I recently purchased a 30-30 barrel from a GB member, it had a front sight, and a scope rail.  There is also a dove tail cutout in the barrel.  I want to remove the scope rail and purchase a replacement rear (iron) sight for the barrel.  A peep sight is preferable, but I would settle for any correct height iron sight for the Handi.  I don't want to replace the front sight if possible.
 
 Does anybody know which is the correct rear peep sight that I should order for my 30-30 Handi barrel?  And from which distributor/web site?  Make and model number, if you know it please.

Skinner sights makes a peep sight that mounts in the scope rail mounting holes giving a longer sight radius.They also make dovetail plug fillers to fill in the old dovetail in the barrel. May be worth a look.

There is a well regarded 'Ghost Ring' sight that replaces the open sight (cant remember the name); several of the guys really like it, sure they will chime in.

There are several peep sights available for H&R barrels that are drilled and tapped for a scope rail, some are listed in the FAQs Peep and Firesights link.

Unless it had a peep before, you will probably have to change the front sight to a taller configuration....  Just a thought.  thejanitor

My handi 30-30 barrel has a Lyman 16a folding leaf rear sight in the mid barrel dovetail. 
 
The only peepsight I have on any handi is the Williams WGRS in the last two scope rail holes over the chamber.  I used a Williams shorty ramp on the front and can't remember how high the sight blade was for this setup, because barrel muzzle diameter varies with caliber.

I've got a couple of Skinners but my new favorite so far is the marbles Bulls eye peep and at $13 bucks they are very well made. Kurt

I got them from Midway I thought  I paid $12.79 for them last month but they are now listed for $15.79. Kurt

I agree totally crank when I got them I was pretty pleased with the quality of the bluing for the price. I also bought a couple of the dove tail insert blanks for $5 something and seen those in the newest midway flyer for $3 somethin.Kurt

I find it is worthwhile to get a number of things when I order to make the shipping charge average out better. It is a killer on only a couple of little parts!
