 NOGALES, Ariz. - A new type of border fence is apparently forcing drug smugglers to change the way they move their cargo from Mexico to the U.S.
The Nogales International (http://bit.ly/mRuTNi) reports that law enforcement officers in Arizona recently noticed that some bundles of marijuana they seized were oddly shaped.
Lt. Gerry Castillo of the Santa Cruz County Metro Task Force says investigators first thought the 48 pounds of marijuana wrapped in thin tubular packages had been prepared for easy transport through a tunnel. But the bundles weren't dirty.
That's when investigators realized the packages had likely been passed between the bars of the new border fence. It features concrete-filled steel tubes with an approximately 4-inch space between them.
The new $11.6 million, 2.8-mile fence near Nogales was completed this summer.

Yep, the Great Wall of China.  I think they need to just build a solid fence, high enough not to be able to climb.  The tubes made it harder to climb.  Like Newt Gingrich said, have a flat tax, that your tax return could be filled out on a post card size to mail back in.  Take the 200,000 IRS agents, and put them on the border.  That would solve the illegal immigration and drug problem.  Getting serious about deporting.  Not giving free medicine, school, or anything else to ILLEGALS.  Serious penalties for those who hire illegals also.  Lots of things can be done.

Although I don't agree with all of it actually Dixie Dude's plan is close. As long as there are incentive's they will come no matter what is done, the incentives have to be removed. The incentives are not so much free medical care, etc. but employment. I can imagine that segments of the business world put a lot of pressure on politicians to ignore the problem because it is cheap labor for them. That is probably why for example that Perry is weak on this issue. Currently California and Texas would be in a world of economic hurt if all of a sudden we had effective control of illegals, it will have to be a graduated process. It is like the drug war, we throw billions at it to appear that we are doing something even if it is not close to being effective.

guzzi, stop the incentive's would help. But, what about the drug trade? I think we still need a fence to at least, slow that down, part of the illegals. Keep the want to work illegals down, killing the incentive's would lower that tremendously. But, not the ones who break the drug and trafficking laws. gypsyman

I think if we deport a criminal who broke one of our laws, they would only be back in a year or two.  I think ILLEGALs who break our laws should be sent to Guantanimo or some such place to serve their time, then deport them.  They would think twice then. 
 
When I started to work 36 years ago with the company I am with, my contractors hired lots of black men to work helping install pipelines.  Digging around other utilities by hand to avoid damage from machines, flagging on highways, wrapping pipe after welding.  Now the OPS (Office of Pipeline Safety) under the US Department of Transportation REQUIRES manditory drug testing for everyone working on a gas pipeline.  When hired and random during the year so many times.  Now my contractors hire Hispanic men who can pass a drug test and have a green card.  This tells me that black men, especially the young, can't pass drug tests.  Lots of older black men don't mind the work.  Can't find young ones, but you can find Hispanics.  The only reason, in my opinion blacks can't find jobs, is that most decent jobs today require drug testing even if low skilled. This is a shame.  Border fence is NEEDED, if anything just to keep drugs out.

every dealer should be executed to cut down on the incentive to deal.

the liberals will scream that won't happen, but my own insurance had my reflux meds changed to something cheaper which didn't work, forcing me to have surgery.  for a year I couldn't swallow meat or bread and now my stomach has shrunk to the point that I can only eat tiny meals.  went from 190lbs down to 160.
the liberals and their plans will kill us.

saw a documentary the other day about the drug war and they had sensors all over the place.
I don't blame the border patrol for not catching them all, if the perps act like they're gonna fight, the BP has to back off.  the reason, the obama justice dept. will charge them with murder if a perp is killled.
this administration has blood on their hands and is responsible for countless ruined lives.
we need some electric bleachers to execute all of them at once along with every democrat that backs them.
