Remington Stock Identification help please

Hello,
 
  I have never posted here, only lurked. I do most of my posting in the H&R Forum here.
 
  I bought a stock a while back online from a guy that belived it was a 700 Remington. It is a Manlicher style, that I really liked and planned on refinishing for my 6mm, 700. The butt plate says Remington, but from what I can tell it is nothing like my 700. It even has a place on the left side of the stock for somethiong that looks like a bolt release cut out like a Mauser. It is definately an aftermarket stock like a Fagen or similar. I will attach some pics of the inletting, and hopefully one of you guys can help me identify it.

          That sure looks like a Mauser stock to me . It is definately not for a Remington , the action screw in the recoil lug is a Mauser thing .

Oneoldsap, I appreciate you looking at it for me!!

  I agree with the recoil lug, but the tang cut out shows it to stop right at the back of the bolt. The tang bolt from the rear trigger guard fits right under the back of the bolt. I guess it could be possibly an older mauser not like a 93 or 98 that I am used to seeing.

 It having a Remington butt plate probably doesnt really mean anything. Its obviously an aftermarket stock, and someone just possibly had the Remington plate lying around, and used it.

  Anyone else have any thoughts?

Thinking that it is a Mauser. look at the left side for the bolt release-- it has a divot hole where the bolt release box bolt goes into (the pointy end) the wood. Just my $.o2. God Bless to all.

could it be from one of those mauser rifles remington was importing and selling for a couple years?
