Not that one.  Are you?  Do you think it is real?

I am bidding on "Heavy Cast Iron Breech Loading Yacht signal cannon", which it is not.

flagman1776,

The mortar you're looking at was (and still is) made in kit form by an Italian company named Mantua Models. The barrel is made of machined brass, the hardware is brass, and the wood is (at least it was) mahogany. These are fine quality model kits, but in no way, shape, or form, should it ever be fired. The barrels are not machined from solid brass stock, but are produced in sections that have to be epoxied together.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.
