I am cooking up some loads for my 300 weatherby for Whitetails and Bear. So far I have 79 grains of H1000 with a 200 grain Accubond 79 grains of H1000 with a 210 grain Berger VLD and just for giggles 180 grain Sierra Round nose. I also did the same bullets with 80 grains of H1000.(Can you tell I'm a H1000 fan
)

That caliber and those loadings should be marginally adequate for small whitetail.
