Hank Jr. was OK--he's much better now after saying what he did and no, he didn't compare Obama to Hitler. He compared the benefits of two meetings between different people.

Faith Hill is OK---but Pink was better on the intro.

Nothing wrong with beer either.

Williams had been on Monday Night Football forever if you consider the length of most TV contracts. Perhaps this was a way for ESPN to cut expenses and replace him with someone cheaper.

Now to email ESPN and tell them they can stuff Monday night. May they lose many, many viewers.

It wouldn't hurt and might do more good to email sponsors for MNF and tell them that as long as they are sponsors of the programming you won't be one of their customers, even if you are just bluffing.

You are quite correct.   And I also might add, if Obama can order the killing of an American citizen (even if that citizen is Anwar  al-Awlaki) without a trial and due process, it makes you wonder what else he may consider within his job description.   

That being said, do you think that there is any validity to the comparison?

He did not compare Obama to Hitler. He compared the golf game between Obama and Boehner to a the unlikely golf game of Hitler versus the Israeli PM.
 
ESPN is stupid. I hate pro athletes and ESPN anyway.

Don't watch ESPN, don't care for football, nascar, or any other so called spectator sport played by a bunch of over payed athelets. Have always been a fan of Hank Jr. and always will. And as a matter of fact I agree with him. You tell'em Bocephus.

I am also a Hank Jr fan and always have been. I wish he would tell ESPN to shove it for good.
 
NASCAR, no athletes there nor a spectator "sport". Those are drivers and a race is an event. The only one I like. Dirt track races in places like Rice Lake WI, now thats interesting!

I dont believe I have ever said a thing like this-I have to side with the Obama on this one. This guy defected to the enemy and stood with the enemy. At that time he became an enemy combatant and in my opionion renounced his US citizenship and his rights as a US citizen. The US and the world is better off without him spewing his hatred all over the internet.

I would bet that people will still watch monday night football even if they had the Jonas Brothers singing the intro.  And I could care less if ESPN censures Hank.  Freedom of speech only protects us from censure from the Government.   ESPN has the right to choose a spokesperson based on thier own values, If Hank Jr. no longer represents those values they can replace him.

Hasn't anyone ever heard of the difference between a comparison and an analogy? You would think that all the media types who make big bucks for being wordsmiths would have known the difference immediately. Maybe they do know the difference and just wanted to stir up the great unwashed masses.

Sorry cabin4 but I have heard some of those drivers refer to themselves as atheletes and thier event as a sport. But I think we all agree Hank should stick to his guns and not back down.

As far as drivers being athletes very much so. Not as grueling as it used to be with the power steering and cool suits but you have to be in shape.

If you don't think so take a driving school and sit behind the wheel of one for 30 minutes on a road course.
Not only do you have to be in shape you have to be very mentally aware of your surroundings for 4 or 5 hours.

The only thing I have done that comes close is 30minutes in a stunt plane.

As I am niether a fan of monday night football or Hank Jr. (payed to go to two of his events where he was too drunk to perform) I will gladly join you in your boycott, and will remain steadfast even if Mr. Williams is allowed to return.  Together we shall overcome!

I got my wish. Today I hear that Hank told ESPN to shove it. He's not going to allow them to use his name or song anymore.

Unconstitutional,,,US citizens, even those termed traitors, are quarranteed a day in court....even members of a treasonous Congress.  Anything else is fascism pure and simple.  Point is anybody could be termed a traitor or enemy combantant by the TPTB, because it is so loosely defined.  Even Hank Jr... ;D

I never thought I would say this, but I happen to agree with TM7 on this one.   Anwar al-Awlaki never formally renounced his citizenship at a US Embassy or Consulate.   Thus, he still is a US citizen with all benefits of citizenship, even due process under 4th, 5th, 6th, and 14th Amendments.
