While "perfect" timing is a wonderful thing cosmetically, it may develop into over-rotating once the gun is broken-in. One of my Hartfords pulled this stunt at a major match at the end of the first season of use. With one loaded chamber left in the gun, the weight of that last bullet would carry the cylinder past the cylinder stop and would index where the firing pin would dent the head stamp.
Hence, the reason that Rugers always leave drag marks. A properly timed revolver has a cylinder stop waiting for the notch, instead of popping in when it shows up. Nothing wrong with drag marks in my book.
