New Contender
« on: October 04, 2011, 01:02:53 PM »
Was at Cabela's today and they say it is a new stainless Contender.  It's differant, maybe from S&W. It is flat sided(no swooping curve on the side)and roll marked(or engraved).  The trigger and hammer are stainless,as opposed to blue, and the center fire to rimfire switch on top of the hammer is stainless and longer than before.  Made me say hmmmm.

Was that a G2?  The custom shop(Fox Ridge) sold flat side SS contenders for 20 yrs.  It is nothing new.

All the production Contenders are flat sided with the engraving. The G2 has the swooping curve on the side

Are you saying that they still make the 'tender? I like that frame better than the G2. If I want the wide sides I would just get an Encore.
