600AT?

I have a mossberg 600AT. I was looking to gain a little info about it. It is very similar to the 500. It has a vented rib, set full choke, and a 30in barrel. This is one of the best shooting shotguns that I own and deff my go-to gun. It was my first shotgun and until now never really wondered about the history behind it. I have honestly never really heard of a 600 before, other than owning one of course. Any background would be great. Thanks.

I have two of these 600`s, I got these back in the 70`s can`t remember exactly! I believe these were manufactured as a economical alternative to the 500`s, the barrels I believe are interchangeable. They are good dependable shotguns, both of mine are in the 12 gauge configuration! They are still in great shape!! They were shot alot and never had any problems. I have one setup as a slug gun with a slug rifled barrel and a Nikon shotgun scope. The other has a Hasting barrel setup for turkey hunting! I still have the original barrels and chokes for these.

Here is a question for you. I want to get the rifled barrel/scope combo offered for the mossberg 500. Since the two models are so similar, will the 500 barrel fit my 600???

As I mentioned in my earlier I believe that the barrels from a 600AT and a Model 500 are interchangeable! Might go to the Mossberg website and send them a question on that!
