Traded off my Rem 700 308 for it. The Rem was causing me feeding problems and got tired of messing with it. walked in to my gun shop and the Howa caught my eye. The action is much smoother than the Remington was, and trigger is really good. Haven't owned a 30-06 since 1965, so ..........I thot it was time to try one again. I have a TC Venture in 308 and a Savage bull barrel in 308 anyway...........

Got a 2 shot 1" group sighting the scope in today, shooting off hood of car, but wind was 30+ crosswind, so I didn't waste ammo.......recoil was fine, like the rifle really well...........

I've gotten 3 of the Howa's and 2 Vanguards in the last year and a half.  Every one of em is a sub MOA with more than one load.  2 of em went to kids and I'll buy more for the other kids.  Been getting great buys on em at my favorite candy store.  DP

I've got the same thing except with the black stock. It has shot 1 inch or better with both kinds of factory ammo I have tried. 180 grain Rem Core-Lokts and 180  Federal Power-Shok
