Even if they are up, they are probably on private property.  Open up the government lands, offshore an in Alaska, energy problem solved, jobs problem solved.  Lower gas prices, better trade balance.

The rig count is one thing but completion of active wells is another. The rig count does not always show stacked and in transit units. The rule for plugging stripper wells on public lands has cost the U.S. millions of barrels of production. It is a real joke. Obama and the Dems have given millions of taxpayer dollars to their Green friends.  The million spent has been lost in California. California remains with high unemployment. North Dakota no Obama aid. Private companies producing oil in spite of the Democrats. ND has the highest employment in the nation. The reserves in ND, Mt, Wy could end our dependence by 100 %. We could sell oil to other nations and turn the economy around very quickly. The Democrats are doing to America what the communist did to Cuba. They are reducing a Beautiful country to a 3rd world nation.
