Thanks for the encouragement folks.
I've been banking the vacation time up this year to be able to get plenty of woods time this fall.
This will be my third trip with this group. Last year was my first Elk on the ground, what a mountain of meat to work on. I kept asking myself what have you gotten yourself into now.
I still have about 25#s in the freezer, and can't remember the last beef I purchased. With only three of us left in the house the venison sure lasts longer. The girls are pretty well ruined for deer meat now, as the elk meat is very tasty.
Hunting is so different than the farm bucks I grew up chaseing. Definately more labor involved, wish I would have started when I was younger. Age has taught me to excercise patience and go at a reasonable pace. We are in the middle of them so I'm as likely to find one a hundred yards from camp as three miles ( matter of fact that is exactly what happened ).
The laundry is done and my bags are pretty well packed. Was kind of hoping I wouldn't have time to get the last mowing done.
