10 ga. Stub?
« on: October 09, 2011, 06:44:33 AM »
seeing how a 10 ga. Receiver is an sb2, I was wondering if anyone has stubbed I rifle barrel with one. I would love to see pics and info on any and all stub guns.

You'd have to use a 10ga stub too or bed the standard stub in the frame because the chamber swell is ~.100" larger than a rifle/shotgun barrel and the 10ga frame is hogged out to make room for it. The 10ga frame also has a large firing pin and the respective hole in the standing breech, wouldn't work the best for any high pressure chambering. The thin side walls of the 10ga frame could make for a bad scenario with a high pressure chambering too.

good info. Was just wondering cause I've got a barrel and 3 receivers and thought I'd be able to work somethin up. Oh well, on to the next. P.s. Dr. Says I'm healing well and should be able to make smokepole season which is great since I've been picked for 3 good hunts this year!

Glad you're on the mend Mark, thought maybe we lost ya when you were MIA!! ;)  That's scary, I was dealin with Remnut a few years ago, traded a 375H&H Encore barrel for a 35 Whelen Handi, and sold some other 375H&H stuff to him, was going to sell him an Encore pistol barrel when he got some more money. He had been in an accident a few months before and he was still having problems, when I didn't hear from him for a while I PMd him several times with no response. Finally his wife PMd me that he'd been hospitalized again, that he told her he was still interested in the barrel, so I held it for him. Never heard from him or her again, no answer on his cell phone, no replies to PMs,  so I suspect maybe he never made it out of the hospital.  :'(

Take care,

Tim
