Any good signs?
« on: October 09, 2011, 12:42:27 PM »
I'm not seeing any bucks out yet in daylight.  Maybe still too warm?  Not seeing a lot of sign either.  Lots of does about in early am.  So far no major rubs.  A friend had a bow kill buck last week still in velvet.

Maybe the deer lost their calendar?

I have been out looking a couple times already while clearing roads and trails. Seen a few rubs on trees about big as my thumb. Haven't seen any real big trails or distinguished areas to hunt. Right now the ground is so dry it's hard to tell new tracks from old. Plan on going out again this week and relocating a couple stands. The loggers cut a few new roads through a really thick swamp area I think will be a good place to hunt.
