Brass rod for small cannon?

What type of brass rod stock would be a good choice for a small bore cannon (probably 1" diameter rod for about a .30 caliber cannon)?

C36000 is pretty strong and with that small a bore, should be OK.

     Go to 'backyard cannon fun' and look at the firecracker cannon there, read response after response.... 30,000+ views. It was designed by Rays89 and built by us for years. We have sold them all over the world. They are considered by some of the best and brightest on this board to be 'bullet proof'. They are made out of 3/4 stock, FC360. It should be noted that, altho, we are having discussion about a redesign, no specific diameter has been decided on.

What bore diameter is usually used for these?  Does the powder charge light the firecracker fuse?

In my firecracker cannons, I'll load with a pinch of black powder, put the firecracker into the bore fuse-end first (after shipping it off), and use the fuse to ignite the main charge.  YES, the firecracker is lit by the blackpowder.

     THE TRADE SECRET IS:  use 19/64 (.296). Our extensive research has 'learned' us that this is the perfect diameter bore for the longest launch with standard Black Cats. 10 grains ffg Goex, firecracker fuse first, moderate tamp, light and BANG, BANG!

OK! OK! JB, I'll spit it out! THE SECOND TRADE SECRET IS: for a 'Split Personality', put the crackers away. Load with 30 grains ffg, add wadding, tamp, tamp again, light and now you know what a split personality is.

It's a good secret, everyone takes notice...no one expects so much bang out of such a small thing.
 
I'm getting 50/50 results in the cracker getting lit.  maybe cheap crackers, maybe too much powder.

     Try backing off the powder charge by one grain. You should be experiencing 98% or better. Package on way to you.

projector, I have found that if launching the grey fused blackcat firecrackers use 2F (8 grains), if using green fused Blackcat "dynamite" firecrackers 12 grains of 3F does a great job  ;D

That could be the problem, cheap fire crackers.  I got sucked in by the "buy one get a million for free" deal at the fireworks store arround the 4th of July.  Call me cheap.
