DANVERS, Mass. (AP) — Authorities in Massachusetts say a family that got lost in a seven-acre corn maze
called 911 for help, apparently taking advantage of the police department's motto that says "We Want To
Be Bothered."

The maze at Connors Farm in Danvers can take up to an hour to navigate.
A police officer entered the maze with a farm manager to search for the disoriented father, mother
and two children. The family didn't realize they had almost made their way out and were just 25 feet
from the street.
Farm owner Bob Connors tells the Boston Globe that they designed the maze so that people get lost
in the long corn stalks.

During my career as a paramedic I got to witness first hand much stupidity and I came to the following belief-

The dumber a person is the more fertile the person is. The dumbest people always seemed to have double digit numbers of children.

And everyone was up in arms last year about the teenager in Alaska that was floating on river ice and was rescued. The kid was just being a kid, these are adults with children. I think maybe the sentence a few thought the Alaskan kid should get- life imprisonment without posibilty of parole. Well it would be good for the "adults" in the corn field. They really need someone to watch over them.

There is one good thing though.....I live within a couple miles of the farm, a struggling family farm I might add, and as of last evening....the lines to get in were way out into the street! This was the best publicity the farm could have hoped for....I'll bet they sell hundreds of tickets this weekend!

There's one just north of here and I know the owner.
They have other stuff setup also besides just the cornfield.
He makes a killing off it.

Shu - IIRC in the incident you referred to there was the argument that the actions of the teenagers "endangered" the people responding. I could be wrong, in this case the no one was placed in danger, but then again, you might be right the cops probably were in danger of laughing themselves to death.

There are a couple down here in southern Indiana. There are always a bunch of people. If you look close, you can tell it is them city folks

Looks like $7 for an adult $5 for ages 3 to 10. At the one below(in link) But it includes corn maze, soybean maze(yes soybeans) Petting zoo and a straw house.

understood about rescuers being placed needlessly in danger. The "adults" in this situation can't take of themselves how are they supposed to take care of children. Just a thought.

I think it's about $8 for adults and $5 for kids...not certain as I'm not the slightest bit interested in it....less a'course my wife wantsa make a "game" of it!!!

um id have to agree with that. dum people dont have to work a lot cuz they keep getting fired and have more time for shall we say "other pursuits"

Simple things can really intrigue city kids. We took a walk to the pond and coming back I picked up 2 crow feathers but couldn't find a 3rd. I cut a small bit off the big end of a corncob and put the 2 feathers in the soft center to make a dart. Didn't wok real well with just 2 feathers. She found a turkey feather so I cut it to the same lgth as the other 2 and it spun like it was supposed to. She was amazed, then I told her that when I was her age that was a toy for us and how we used to make up several and see if we could hit a target. She had a ball with it then put it up for safe keeping when she left. POWDERMAN.

Both my daughters were A-B students

I am truly hoping my boy dont follow there footsteps. He graduated with honors last year(no idea where they get it) He started college already. For now he is not as blonde as the girls

Almost forgot, Daughter #1 took her kids to one of the farms with a maze yesterday. She took my boy so she would not get lost
