Fit, Finish, and Form

Boyd's STERLING THUMBHOLE STOCK looks like a good deal.
It does not appear to come with a forend, and Boyd's does not appear to sell any.
Gunstock Inc appears to have the same laminates and several choices of forend styles.
It appears that I can order a stock from Boyds, a forend from Gunstock inc, and a spacer from Toth. Finish the forend, install the spacer, bolt the forend and stock on and start shooting.
Three questions:
   1) Any matching forends available that are already finished?

   2) Any suggestions for choosing a forend other than appearance?

   3) Any thing I'm missing?


UPDATE:
I just got a PM that says Boyd's will be offering forends soon. That will simplify.

I believe they stated that the forearms will be coming along in about 3 more weeks.  ;)  Just use your old one till they are done if you buy one.  ;)

IIRC, GSI says to buy the stock and foreend at the same time to ensure a good color/pattern match.  Might want to talk to Boyds and buy them as a set and hopefully they will match for you.  Also save a nickel on shipping.
