My .44 Special Flattop

I haven't done anything to this one except give it a trigger job.  I got a great deal on it.

My factory trigger was fine out of the box.  Didn't do anything to mine but shed those awful grips.  I wanted American Holly from Gary Chapman, but too expensive.  Paid about $40 to the Ruger Store for Rosewood.  My flattop has become my favorite gun.  It seems to be exactly the right size.  Unlike the blued bigger Blackhawks, it's all steel and feels like business.

I'm thinking about those grips myself.  I like the old style emblems on them.  I don't like these grips at all.

is it just me or does that gun look like it has some new vaquero parts on it?
ie the hammer and the grips. i haven't been to the emporium lately but the only gun i have seen that hammer spur on is the vaquero and the grips too.

The only thing wrong with that gun, is it address! Should be at mine.
I am lucky enough to have a shop in which I make my own grips. I just recently finished a set of curly maple for my Vaquero. Put them on and then took them back off and put the checkered plastic back on. They feel better in my hand. Wish someone would come out with the hard rubber that Colts had though.
