I believe they did in a Round nose configuration when they were still producing 30-40 Krag factory ammo.  I don't know of a spire pointed version though.
As an aside, Hornady still does produce the RN style:

It's still loaded in the factory ammo. The 180gr round nose Corelokt is still loaded too.

WW used to load a 200 gr Silvertip(old style) for the 308 Win. That bullet was very fragile. My wife shot a 90 lb fallow doe at about 60 yards from a Mohawk, the bullet did not penetrate and broke up in the deer. We stopped using that ammo after that.

Id don't see any rem 220s that are not in loaded ammo, but midway has 220s from several different manufactuers.

;)  Somewhere in my loading room I have part of a box of bullets that are Rem. 220 grain core lokt..bought em at a gun show I suppose.. Scatter,.I haven't shot these at game, but have used WW Silvertips in 220 grain in my .30 cal...mostly I use them for close range stand hunting..on lighter game, the kill well and are not explosive...

The problem is, 220's are poor performers, expanding too fast in the biggest big game, even at 30-06 velocities.  I've seen them blow up after penetrateing less than 12" in a carbou on a frontal shot.

My experience has been, 200 grain bullets out perform on big game, and the 200NP is by far the best of the lot.

I've not heard of this with the Hornady 220 gr. bullets.  This was one of the reviews from Midway's listing:
Quote
Dave Sands of DeForest, WI5.00 starsDate Posted: 2/25/2010Fantastic penetration, shot a 325 lb. Bear at 110 yards and knocked the bear right off its feet. Used in 300 Win. Mag.
And several I know that load for the 30-40 Krag use them for deer etc. also.  ;)

I can only tell you what i've seen, can't speak for anyone else, but if they give poor penetration on a caribou, they aren't for me on anything bigger/tougher than that.  Yes i've seen the 220 Hornadys used too...

They should be good for deer, as they are on the soft side...  I'm talking used in a 30-06 on up...

The review above on the black bear was a 300 Win Mag. which out classes the 30-06 significantly.

220 grains in Hornady Interlocks and Nosler Partitions are your best bet for performance.

The 220 corelocks are definately constructed more fragile then the 180s. Ive never been a big fan of 180s in 06s or 308s. Ive just chased to many deer shot well with them. Most are constucted to take the velocity of 300 mags. the 220 corelock is not like that. I had a great uncle that did all  his hunting with an old springfield and shot truck loads of deer with those 220s. They may not shoot flat but he didnt shot much past a 100 yards anyway. He thought they were the ticket for shooting through brush which there not but it was hard to argue with him as he did kill deer. He was the first handloader i ever knew and probably is responsible for getting me started. He had one old herters press one set of dies one jug of surplus 4831 and the only bullet he loaded was the 220.

First of all, you don't need 220's to kill a 300 pound bear with a 300 Win. mag., and if he rib shot it, it was NO no test for a 220 at all!  A frontal shot on a big caribou with 220's out of a 300 Win mag. IS a test, and they didn't fare so well.  I saw other big game shot with different 220's with similar results...

They aren't for me, there's just so many BETTER choises, why use them??

I will be using these in a single shot barrel at around 30-40 Krag velocities.
Also will probably do a test of Rem Core Lokt`s and Hornady Interlock`s!
These will be used for shot range 35 -150 yards hunting rounds on deer, hogs, and etc!

As you slow them down they will work better, it sounds like you are on the right track with with your plan.
