One would be lying about the Gulf of Tonkin which got us into the Viet Nam War. Caused alot of good people to lose their lives.

geez so many things to pick from. This could take some serious reflection. For some reason the first thing that comes to mind is the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank but I am sure after thinking about it I could think of something worse.

Disregarding the right of the states to leave a voluntary union.  Until 1861 it was even taught at the US Military Academy that the several states were independent entities and could leave the union. See:

HAVING thus endeavoured to delineate the general features of this peculiar and invaluable form of government, we shall conclude with adverting to the principles of its cohesion, and to the provisions it contains for its own duration and extension.

The subject cannot perhaps be better introduced than by presenting in its own words an emphatical clause in the Constitution.

The United States shall guarantee to every state in the Union a republican form of government, shall protect each of them against invasion, and on application of the legislature, or of the executive when the legislature cannot be convened, against domestic violence.

The Union is an association of the people of republics; its preservation is calculated to depend on the preservation of those republics. The people of each pledge themselves to preserve that form of government in all. Thus each becomes responsible to the rest, that no other form of government shall prevail in it, and all are bound to preserve it in every one.

But the mere compact, without the power to enforce it, would be of little value. Now this power can be no where so properly lodged, as in the Union itself. Hence, the term guarantee, indicates that the United States are authorized to oppose, and if possible, prevent every state in the Union from relinquishing the republican form of government, and as auxiliary means, they are expressly authorized and required to employ their force on the application of the constituted authorities of each state, "to repress domestic violence." If a faction should attempt to subvert the government of a state for the purpose of destroying its republican form, the paternal power of the Union could thus be called forth to subdue it.

Yet it is not to be understood, that its interposition would be justifiable, if the people of a state should determine to retire from the Union, whether they adopted another or retained the same form of government, or if they should, with the, express intention of seceding, expunge the representative system from their code, and thereby incapacitate themselves from concurring according to the mode now prescribed, in the choice of certain public officers of the United States.

The principle of representation, although certainly the wisest and best, is not essential to the being of a republic, but to continue a member of the Union, it must be preserved, and therefore the guarantee must be so construed. It depends on the state itself to retain or abolish the principle of representation, because it depends on itself whether it will continue a member of the Union. To deny this right would be inconsistent with the principle on which all our political systems are founded, which is, that the people have in all cases, a right to determine how they will be governed.

This right must be considered as an ingredient in the original composition of the general government, which, though not expressed, was mutually understood, and the doctrine heretofore presented to the reader in regard to the indefeasible nature of personal allegiance, is so far qualified in respect to allegiance to the United States. It was observed, that it was competent for a state to make a compact with its citizens, that the reciprocal obligations of protection and allegiance might cease on certain events; and it was further observed, that allegiance would necessarily cease on the dissolution of the society to which it was due.

The states, then, may wholly withdraw from the Union, but while they continue, they must retain the character of representative republics. Governments of dissimilar forms and principles cannot long maintain a binding coalition.

 Judi McLeod of Canada Free Press reports that in the last quarter of 2009 Code Pink was in Egypt (after wending its way through Gaza to get there) and were later joined by domestic terrorists and ObamaFriends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.  They claimed it was a "coincidence." Uh-huh.  Sure it was.  Were they assisting in planning the Egyptian revolution?  Sure looks like it.  Was Obama involved?  C'mon...what do you think?

 Today, however, the Drudge Report and The UK's Daily Telegraph are reporting about something more insidious and far more menacing to the survival of the USA and the world.  On 4 February 2011, Matthew Moore, Gordon Rayner and Christopher Hope reporting for the Daily Telegraph wrote:  "Information about every Trident missile the US supplies to Britain will be given to Russia, as part of an arms control deal signed by President Barack Obama next week."  So, not only has Obama destroyed the USA's defense system but, he is bent upon taking Great Britain down with it.

 The authors go on to write:  "The fact that the Americans used British nuclear secrets as a bargaining chip also sheds new light on the so-called "special relationship," which is shown often to be a one-sided affair by US diplomatic communications obtained by the WikiLeaks website."

 Folks, as he is allowed to get away with these crimes and continues to commit even greater ones, if this latest offense is being accurately reported by the growing multitudes of news sources The Obama's offenses against humanity loom larger and more horrific every day.  Please contact your Representatives and Senators and tell them Congress must stop Obama immediately.  His High Crimes are now in the world's eye and available for all to see.  Soon, we may all look like Egypt.

How about the elected officials putting their own gain over that of the people who elected them. Or the polarizing of America. Getting people to believe their party is always correct and the other party has nothing to offer. In doing so, they have divided the country. I seriously think this is a serious act of treason. Presidents come and go, but the elected officials hang on forever, continuing to divide this country.

There is a deliberate attempt started several years ago but continuing to the present to create a class of people in the country that are permanently dependent on the government. These people must be able and inspired to vote. Thus we have all kinds of programs to allow everybody to "have a voice"  like moter voter programs, easy or non-existent ID processes at the polls, even attempts to allow criminals and illegal aliens to vote.

At the same time there is program after program created designed to cause people to be beholden to the government like welfare, extended unemployment, low or no tax rates for the masses, and other government give aways.

Of course I am refering to the Democrat party, that has an agenda to accomplish these goals, and to make sure that the dependents know who is handing out all the goodies.

The Country is edging closer and closer to the point where there will be more of the "takers" than there are "producers" and then we will be in the same shape as the socialists countries in Europe that are falling apart.

WOW! so many. I have to go with what Gary said..........Perhaps you should write about the most honorable thing the Government (Fed) has done. You wouldn't risk writers cramps ;)

The Unconstitutional wars of aggression,The formation of the  Department of Homeland Security,The Federal War On Drugs, are a few treasonous act's that come to mind. "Oh yea" I'll put on the hat here and say......I think the jury is still out on the whole story behind 911.

I agree sir. Our country is in finacial ruin, & I cant find anything made by American workers
But I sure cant find an arguement against the other posts. Hopefully when the Chinese occupy this country , they will let us own guns & hunt.

Heather you have a good start there, but a paper was written long ago that will work and be as accurate today as when it was written.
It is called the Declaration of Independence
Read the charges against the Crown and see if they are not as fitting to charged against our government.

Heather and Hooker, well done both of you. It seems that our Constitution is just as vital as it was meant to be. The complaints against the crown just as legitimate. The only differance is timeline in history. We had warnings from our forefathers, most notably B Franklin "Those willing to trade......." We as a society have done that, and our gov't is still doing what they want. Now we are sending troops to procure the oil interest of soro's in Africa.Yet again under the guise of human rights violations, when the rights being violated are OURS! Get adament about your beliefs? Ruby Ridge and Waco shows us what happens then. Our gov't is corrupt and will keep those who think that on the other list. Land of the free as long as you toe "their" line.Don't believe it? Stop paying taxes, having _____licenses, permits, etc.

Clearly any act that is knowingly unconstitutional is a treasonist act.
The left has continued to move our nation to the left.  They take tree steps left and get the media to sway public opinion into getting others to meet them half way.  The next act is to take 5 steps to tje left and slowly press the adgenda of communism.  I think you can pick any number of agencies (EPA- IRS- Department of energy), Czars, or exucitive orders that are unconstutional.
The agencies are writting rules that are not laws, laws are made by congress and approved, and over seen by the other branches of our govenment.  The Rules commin from the EPA are not laws but are acted on as laws made by the exucitve branch and not over seen by the courts in a power grab to cut out the other branches.  In effect treason to our form of government.

Just a minute here,,,then by your measure the Patriot Acts, Military Commissions Act, Emergency Powers Acts, Emergency Health Act would all be treasonous acts....I guess we need to call up Mr. Bush Jr. and ask him what he thinks....about that GD piece of paper!.. ::) ;D

From what I remember the Partiot act was passed by congress.  The Military Commission act was passed by congress, and so was the Emergency act.  Morons like John Kerry and his I voted FOR it before I voted against it. 
It was passed through congress.  I figured you would bring up Geo HW bush and the first drug Czar, a post he created and was given all kinds of flack over.  The key difference was the first drug Czar was an advisor role to the president the the DEA he had not authority to make policy, rules, or regulatons.
Good try but the word ACT should tip you off that it was a congressional proposal or passage.  Like Bill Clintons Assault weapons ban was a congressional act.  But I think he was willing to make it an exuctive order if it failed to pass.
Although that may not be treason.  The bill of rights says congress shall make no law not the president shall not issue exucitive orders.  But as the exucitive he is not allowed to issue laws, only congress is and that too would have been a violation of the constitution.
The question I have for you is?  If a police man violates your civil rights you can sue them, they can have their liberty taken away.  But if a congressional law if deemed to be in viloation of the constution why are the members of congress not punished either monitarily or inporisioned for writting the law or voting for it? The police officer only violated one persons rights the congress violated all of our rights?
