629 break in???

just bought a 629 with a 6 1/2 bbl......not very accurate..heard that these have to be broken in...how many shots does this take??

Unless you have a particularly rough bore, it should shoot well right from the beginning, with nothing more then a good cleaning and application of lube prior to use.  Try several different brands / bullet weights until you find what it likes.

ive got some 210 gr.  hps and some 240 gr, xtps...most of my prior loads were loaded with ww296...bought some blue dot to try and a fellow at work said you might try aa#9 we will have to see what happens.......thanks for the reply......DECKAPE

There actually is a proper break in procedure you should follow. It consists of shooting a minimum of a few thousand rounds during the first six months you own the gun. After that shoot regularly. You'll be amazed how much better it shoots after you apply this procedure.  :o

My method is pretty similar to GBs. First, buy the gun. Second, gather all the ammo you can lay your hands on. Finally, shoot the gun, until it knows who the boss is. This has always worked for me.
