Well I have 243, 30-30, .270,25-06 handi. also have a rem wingmaster 12 guage, 243 bolt, 17hmr,.270 bolt and an in-line. This is my dilema. I have an extra receiver. Should I get a 20 guage slug barrel. My area in shotgun only for does from thanksgiving till end january but I use my bow,or in-line. I was thinking a 357 and make it a maxi but I have the 30-30 which is close to that. My last choice was a .204 since i dont have a small center fire but do have a 17hmr to use for the little critters. Any suggestions.

You're in the right neighborhood but got the wrong house. ;)  Buy the .357 Mag and go forth with your plan. You won't be sorry!

there are not that many 204's around, but hornets are pretty common. They are pretty cheap to load for. or they are making the 222 for awhile I think, that would be a sweetie...........

You don't have a straight wall caliber in the crowd.  I second the vote for the .357.....then there's the .44, .45LC.......let's see......38-55....if ya wanna allow a slight taper, the .45-70.  Go for one.  They're fun ;D ;D   The kicker is, you can do all kinds of weird things to them and make them a lot more.

Unless the 357 is legal in your doe only season for shotgun I would go with a rifled 20 ga barrel.  Right ammo in a rifled 20 ga can get you a 125 to 150 yard accurate deer dispatcher.  Lot faster 2nd shot for the "family plan" than your inline MZ. ;)

Well I decided as of this minute it will be the 357 and I just printed the paperwork out to send in an extra reciver I have. All day the form has had 357 guestions being asked and I was like a kid in a candy store and had to keep looking and researching brass, bullets and dies and all the above. Who needs a .204 ( so I say for now). What do I need another shotgun for(this week anyway) . Thanks for the help and how many are in line for that reamer Tim. This is going to be another sleepless night. i hate this problem.
