We are about 12 weeks away??

Since its 1 degree here I figured I post we are about 12 weeks away from wetting our lines in the northeast.  Even 30 degrees would be a heat wave?  I'm changing out my lines sorting thru my hooks and making my list and checking it twice?   I guess I'm going to have to order my weedless hooks right from eagle claw  # 249W since I can't find any anywhere.  This seems about it maybe some brass weights(carolina rigs) too.   Well I have some hooks to sharpen too.   what are you guys doing or buying??                                                 BigBill

I may just go ice fishing just one hole, one jigging rod thats it for me.

Gearing up to go to Florida.  We've got a trip planned the end of the month.  When that's done, its turn around and get ready to fish.  We'll be on the lake in February, and should be now, but gota get ready to go south.

There's Fishing and then there's Bass Fishing
Its kinda like the difference between Sandlot Baseball and Playing on the Team.
The difference is Practice

Unless mother nature warms things up sooner than expected it's going to be around 10 to 12 weeks before the water warms up enought to suit me.  I keep my eyes on the weatherman but it's usually the end of March before the Bass start getting active.  Lawdog

:D Boy, I'm lucky.  It's been running about 60-70 degrees for the last couple of weeks here in West Texas.  We have had a very mild winter this year, very few days where we went below freezing, even at night.  Only problem here, the darn wind blows 60 MPH.  I hate to fish when I have to fight the wind all day, but those who elect to go are catching some good fish, and the crappie fishing is excellent right now.

We are getting ready for a trip to Lake Fork the last week of the month.  And the end of Feburary we have a salt water trip planned  out of Port Lavaca, Tx.  Plant to limit out on them big Reds and Trout.................Ummmmmmmmmm, sure good eating.  Darn, If I didn't have to work for a living I could fish and/or hunt every day.

I may have to buy land in the south and migrate each winter thats a great idea??  Its 5 degrees here right now and lastweek my son was in Laredo,Texas  on a business trip and he said they don't understand how cold it is here in the northeast??  But he did say it was warm down there.
