I can't believe how hard it's gotten to get .357 Magnum brass.  It was free for the asking a few years ago.  Even .38 Special brass is getting scarce around here.

All your police dept. have gone to 9mm-.40 or maybe .45. I noticed that a couple years ago. Can't find once fired much anymore, cause the handloaders have bought up what was out there, and now you have to buy brand new stuff. Still get tons of .223 but it seems like even .308 is getting harder to find. Still there, but almost at brand new price's. Plus, I think the word has gotten out how much brass brings in at the scrap yard. Shooters that don't reload, are picking up their empty's and trading them in. Either at the scrap yard, of to a reloader at a gun show or shop. gypsyman

They are available all over the internet, new or used, and far cheaper than buying local for me.
 
I have bought 1000's of 38 Special and 357 Magnum off auction sites for next to nothing.

I never had it free for the asking but my 357 needs are pretty low. I shoot PPC and IPSC with 38 Specials and they seem to last forever. I probably shoot 100 38's to every 357 I shoot though I do need to start shooting more of them. It is a great round and delivers super accuracy with a decent load.

  I bought over a hundred new(never fired) R-P 357 Magnum cases, 3 loading blocks, and a plastic ammo box at a local flea market the other day for $2.00.

I am lucky and have always had almost all the brass I needed.
I have spread it around a bit too...  ::)

How are you doing with 7MM Maggie Swamp?

I picked up 500 rounds of new stuff years ago. Head stamped CIA.  Kind of a boutique deal. I trimmed a batch of it down to between 357 and 38 Special length when USPSA said we couldn't shoot MAJOR out of a 38 case!! I won three US National titles with MAJOR 38 and then they decided it was unsafe!! LOL  Anyway I shot two matches with it and won some gold and then USPSA reinstated the 38 MAJOR stuff and I went back to my 38 cases and a load of 2400.

SWAMPMAM check you local gun range they usually have once fired brass the range master is the man to talk to .or go on line. ;)
