Boggy is right about putting hair out. I have frozen hundreds of them and I like to "fold" the hide much like you would a blanket. That way it lays flat in the freezer and leaves more room. However, be sure that the hide freezers all the way through before putting anything on top of it. The hair is a great insulator and if other items are placed on it before it has completely frozen through and through, it could cause some slippage. Same applies for any pelt or hide. Also, I do not like to salt any hide if it is going in the freezer. I know at processing plants, hides are often salted and stacked. If that is the case, I would either flesh and resalt or if you want to put in the freezer, wash in good clean cool water until the salt has been removed and then let the pelt "air dry" enough to rid the hair of most water content and then put in freezer.
