Apex Barrel
« on: October 25, 2011, 02:59:52 AM »
I have a new, unfired Apex barrel in .308 Win that I'm not using.  I'm either going to sell it or have it cut down for a more compact look.  It's 25" factory length, what length do you think would be good while not ruining the balance?

Why is that?
I'm aware of decreased velocity with shorter barrels and there is a possibility of higher muzzle blast with a shorter barrel, as well.
My Model Seven has an 18.5" bbl and shoots really well.

OK I would think 20" would be a good length unless you are just looking for really compact. Another approach would be to have it cut to the longest length you think might suit your needs and if its still a little long for your tastes then remove some more etc. bettr then going for 18" and find that it just doesnt work for you  ;)
