FN 1893 Mauser, made for who?

 I have a neat little Mod 93, 7mm mauser, with the FN stamp on it. I can't seem to find out who they made these rifles for, does anyone know? All I could find out was that FN contracted to make them. Just curious. BTW, mine shoots that S&B 173gr ammo like gangbusters!

Rev:  it would appear that no matter who had their hands on it before, whether they spoke English, Spanish or German, it was made just for you and now you have one very neat little Model 93 in 7mm Mauser.  That rifle should make a neat little hunting carbine for you.  And the 7mm Mauser round is one of the all time greats.  Have fun.

I see plenty of these for sale and have always wondered if they are safe with modern 7x57 loads.
 
Any caveats I should know before investing in one?

I am at work taking a tip toe recess.
I have a great book at home that shows the history ofthe Mauser riflesadn each and every model.
DO you see any crests on the rifle?
Are you sure it is a 93/ 95 action?
Does it cock on opening or on close?
I ask because most of the FN rifles in 7mm have been 98 actions made for South American countries.

 This rifle is definitly a Model 93, has the flat bottom bolt, and an FN crest to boot! ha. Yes, they are safe with all but the +P loads. It just wasn't designed for higher pressures, but there are still some good ones out there. The "cock on closing" takes some getting used to, but no big deal.
  P.s. Since I wrote the above, I sold the rifle to a young newly wed man, who needed a good deer rifle, and who, like I was back then, strapped for cash. I couldn't turn him down, it;s gone! No sweat, I have the "modern version"; a Kimber 84M Classic in 7mm08. It was just nice to play around with a 120+ yr old rifle that outshot many semi-custom rifles!
