WW 2 era 30-06 in the box, shoot or keep?
« on: January 11, 2004, 11:46:21 AM »
I bought a large batch of Denver arsenal, dated 1942, 30-06 standard ball rifle ammo that had been in storage for along time, some loose, and some in boxes.  I have shot up most of it, and I have 2 boxes left that are unopened and in good shape.

I know a collector at the local gunshows, and might be able to sell it to him.  Or else, I could shoot it.  The accuracy is so, so, and I believe it might be corrosive, which makes for extra cleaning, I would not miss getting rid of it.  What do you think it is worth?  :?

Thanks.

Saw a box of match grade at a gunshow.

A fellow was selling several full boxes of match grade circa 1940 30-06 at the gun show for $7.00 a box.  I guess that settles it, just shoot and enjoy as it must be fairly common right now. :-)
