[/size] (1) Persons shall not enter upon the lands of another to shoot, hunt, trap, or fish, or for other wildlife-related recreational purposes, without the oral or written permission of the landowner, tenant, or person who has authority to grant permission.

(3) A fish and wildlife law enforcement officer may arrest or issue a citation to any person who is in violation of this section or the administrative regulations adopted thereunder.

(4) Persons who enter upon the lands of another to shoot, hunt, trap, or fish, or for other wildlife-related recreational purposes, shall not, through their actions, cause damage to any buildings, fences, crops, livestock or domestic animals, machinery, or other property while upon these lands.

So far this year I have removed two deer stands from my 12 acre woods.  I am tired of people acting like they have free range over any piece of ground that may have something to hunt.  C'mon guys this is why people dis-allow hunting altogether on their properties.

that is the reason for posted signs.
Ga. has a law that you cannot sue a landowner if you sneak in and break your own neck.
too many have no manners or respect for others property.

yep bugeye, I think that's what bothers me the most.  I didn't want to post the ground, but last year the signs went up due to some destruction.

Its really ashame that a landowner has to post a property. I believe Indiana also past a law last year, to remove the property owners liability(as it should be)  I hunt on other people properties, I dont have none to hunt of my own. But I do check every year to insure I still have permission. Plus the owners know I will in no way hold them responsable for my problems encountered while hunting there. Except maybe the lack of deer ;D

In Ohio you have a have a permission slip, available from the ODNR, signed by the property owner in your possession when hunting private land that you do not own or rent.  If you do not have this signed permission slip with valid dates and specifying what you can hunt, then you are not trespassing but you are POACHING as defined by the Ohio Revised Code.  Your hunting rights, your hunting equipment and the vehicle you drove out in are all fair game to a state agent if he wants them.   Sadly, there are still many "hunters" out there with the attitude that "my daddy" didn't need no permission slip and neither do I.

The stands I have seen that have been hung by these uninvited guests haven't looked safe for a squirrel to run across them.  My favorite one to date has a platform that is made from the shelf of a large commerical freezer, the type with the refridgerant coils built into the shelf, with swing set chain nailed to the tree trunk for support.  The steps were made by driving railroad spikes into the tree.  This entire "stand" hangs out over a small creek.
