I bought my new 7600 Carbine 30-06 Spr. a few months ago. I've fired about 60 rounds through it. The fore-arm was nice and tight and made no noise. Went hunting with it today and the first few hours it was tight and quiet as always. Then after we made our last move I loaded it and all the sudden the fore-arm started rattling when I touched it against my arm as I carried it. Or if I put my hand on the fore-arm while it's resting as if I was going to shoot. The action seems a little smoother then it did before, but it never made any noise. If I lift the fore-arm up and down as the rifle is in the aiming position, I can see the round part of the action bar going up and down on the tube under it. That's where it's making the noise from. I made sure the big screw on the end of the fore-arm was tight.
Why would it all the sudden get loose and start making noise? Is there a O-ring or something in between the round part of the action bar and the tube under it? I like that the action seems a little smoother, however I don't like the noise it's making now. Is there anything I can do to stop it from making noise. I asked a good friend of mine that has 3 or 4 7600's. He said they get loose and make noise as they break in, then asked me if I wanted to sell it. Which I don't. I just don't want it to make noise.
Thanks, NYH1!
