My first deer was a spike, very much like that.  After nearly 20 years it remains the TROPHY of my life and I can recount the bold colors of Fall that associated that event along with the wasps, the tree stand "anomalies" through which I persevered, and the exhilaration after pulling the trigger.  Like his first love, this is one event that will NEVER fade.  Congratulations.

Congrats - it's a trophy for sure!  There'll be some nice tender steaks in that one.

That first deer is a memory you never forget.  Can still recall every detail of the morning I shot my first one.

it was great he was so happy we headed out with the deer in the back and he turned to me and said " i feel kind of bad about taking his life" i said but he is going to feed our family. He was ok after that. I dont think he has let go of the brass yet.

Congrats to both of you! Wonderful story. My ]7ar old and I Shot a smallish buck on Sunday. I would not have shot him if he didnt say "Dad, who cares how many points it has, it is so good to eat"...From the mouths of babes.

Hell Yes!  It is just like that!  I can relate.  I have the case from the first round I ever shot (as an adult) at my own property from my own gun (a 30-30 Winchester) that has a piece of paper stuck down its throat with the original date and time inscribed.  I refer to it infrequently and get that same old thrill when I remember.
