If Romney is the nominee, I will vote for Obama
« on: November 02, 2011, 02:56:23 AM »
I can't vote for Romney. Compared with Obama it's just a choice between coke and pepsi. No choice at all. He hates guns, and his policies are just status quo stuff. The republican party is still dead. Cain seems to be more of a bean counter than a leader, so I don't see myself voting for him either. I could support Gingrich or Bachmann, or even Paul.

Obama has a very strong chance of getting a second term.

Romney is just John McCain all over again. They are totally equivalent, except that Romney's policy ideas are, if anything, even worse than McCain's, thus making Romney more like Obama than McCain.

It looks like Romney is the candidate we'll be voting for because the likes of Ann Coulter and Dick Morris favor him, but I can't see why. The only thing articulated is that he "looks presidential" and acts like "the adult in the room". Look at his policy ideas: Garbage. Bureaucratic garbage. Doubletalk. Sloganeering. He runs while RomneyCare is bankrupting Massachussetts. He can never escape that stigma.

It's a shame the Republican party has such poor choices. They should win this coming election easily. Can't believe there is no one in the Republican party that can win over the Republicans let alone the general voting population. It's like a sports team that should win, but don't because of problems within their organization.

By the way, I'm venting out of frustration. But I actually have firmly decided not to vote for Romney. That is a guaranteed given.

I agree with XD40SC.

This is a historic opportunity for one of the strong republican governors to run for president, and be one of the great presidents. I guess none of them want the job. Instead we got a couple of retreads in Perry and Romney.

One other thing: With the likey republican candidate, it also seems likely that there will be a third party candidate that will take votes away from the republicans. It would not surprise me if one of the current candidates that don't get nominated continues to run as an independent.

i agree with ya on this conan.   romney is what the republicant establishment is pushing.   and if he would win, it would be obama all over again.  only, romney would be able to do more damage.
the way i see it, everyone is sick of obama and he is pretty much a lame duck.  he has already done the damage, and people are onto him and he cant really do much more because of it.   romney on the other hand, could continue to push the current agenda.
if the republicants put up milktoast mitt romney, i will vote for obama.

You guys can't be serious.  A lame duck obama would be more dangerous than ANYONE on the Republican side.  I might be able to see saying that you won't vote for Romney, but to actually state that you would vote for obama is insane.

What's insane about it? Last time we had McCain as a candidate. This time it looks like it may be worse than McCain. We're supposed to support that?

Go to Romney's web site and look at his policy papers. It's just rambling verbose non-specific nonsense that does nothing to address anything. He's not a politician. He's a caricature of a politician.

Do you like Romney as a candidate? Why?

Voting for obama, that's what.  No, I don't like Romney.  Not sure I would even vote for him, but I sure as hell wouldn't vote for obama.  That's called cutting off your nose to spite your face.  Won't do it.  Hell, I won't even think about doing it.

I don't want Obama to have a 2nd term and I don't think that Romney is a good choice at all. Between these two there isn't even a clear "Lesser of Two Evils" choice.

It would be nice to have the option to vote "None of the Above" and have that candidate win...

romney is leading in the polls for one reason.  the democrats know that obama will be their man, so they vote in polls and will vote in the republican primary because they know that romney is not our first choice.  they are packing the polls so the less informed will vote for romney.
the republicans did the same thing here to oust cynthia mckenney.
lets hope it doesn't work.

Face it, the American public will not support very conservative candidates in the numbers it would take win. This is why Romney is picking up speed and going to the front of the pack. Unless something changes soon in the republican race, like it or not you will have four more years of Obama. The way it looks now Obama is a shoe in.

I will not vote for Obama, and will not vote for Romney. At this point in time, I don't think it matters who you vote for. This country is on the skids, and by Nov. of next year, we're going to be in the crapper. Hell, we're already half way there now. Might be the first time since 1973 I might skip voting. gypsyman

I would definitely vote for Gingrich. I think he's the best of the lot, by far. And he has the experience to work well with congress. I'm often surprised that so many republicans dislike him. He's right about most things, and he has thought the issues through very thoroughly.

Of all of them, he is the one with the potential to be a great president.

Romney is just John McCain all over again.

Your right.  The reason we have Obama is because the Republican party gave us the Geezer/MILF ticked last time.

I'd vote Bozo The Clown over Obama but I see your point that Romney is a piss-poor alternative and a wimpy lead from the GOP.

I'd hit myself in the groin with a large hammer before I vote for Obama.

I won't vote for Obama or Romney, I'm not here to hold up the Republican party if they don't deserve it.  If they nominate Romney the reps will go down again, and they will deserve it.  So if your a Republican you might want to get hold of the leaders of the party and let them know, it's up to Republicans to fix their problem.  Their job is to attract me as a voter, not hope that Obama is so bad I will vote for another socialist with a Republican stamp on their head.  I won't...and that is that.  Obama won't do any more to me than Romney will.
Mickey Mouse for me too...

Well it's true most are poor choices, but we also have a great patriot running in this primary, and I cannot believe no conservative has mentioned his name!! :o His banner is at the top and bottom of this thread. We don't have to vote for criminals like Mitt or O. The only person running who honors the Constitution...........RON PAUL. He will get my vote in the primary.

If Romney wins, his picks for judges and agency heads will come from the Republican list, which I still think is slightly better than the Democrat list.  The president is not the only man in Washington.  I think it is more important for the democrats to lose the senate.

us920669, the problem is that there are some here who would rather give up than compromise.  If they can't get exactly what they want, they're just going to take their ball and go home.  I don't like compromise either, but I like losing (or surrendering) even less.

Exactly. Get 5-10 more Rand Pauls and Demints in the senate and they will push a Romney to the right. Trust me, Romney is not going to veto a bill to defund NPR written by a Rand Paul senator as an example.

The only candidate I won't vote for over Obama is Perry. As a life long Californian, I cannot vote for a blatant hispanderer. I have seen what those policies lead to..I will stay home. But luckily, Perry has  zero chance of winning the nomination. Personally, I am a Newt supporter, but admire Cain's positive attitude and thinking outside the box a bit.
